- Top quality .. good as any you can find .. cast all the way to Cape Hatteras!!!
- Need different colors .
- casts like butter
- hard to find in-stock
- Very light and strong.
- Would like cork wrap for handle.
- Great prices.
- None
- SUPER LIGHT FOR SIZE AND AFFORDABLE PRICE
- Really strong rod and the price is very affordable.
- A little to stiff for my usage when targeting Sierra in Cabo with smaller jigs.
- Was not sure about the finger trigger on a 12' as none of my other surf casting rods have them but I find it does add a bit of confidence when trying to muscle a long cast thanks to the extra grip. You don't' really notice it after a couple casts.
- Weight is on the lighter side of my collection and it is hard not to want a lighter pole once you use one.
- Closest to boutique performance I have gotten without the hefty price tag.
- None so far other than needs a worthy case to protect the investment.
- Trigger grip adds comfort and gives me confidence for more aggressive casting.
- 2-pieces
- sturdy
- looks great
- rod can be hard to load
Went with 10.6 and plan to use a Battle 2 6000 with 30-50lb Power Pro.
It's the medium heavy and it handles any fish I've had on so far. I'm looking forward to getting another.
It's a very comfortable rod to fish with in the surf.
- Well built, solid rod.
- Confortable.
Es difÃcil decir en una imagen, pero asegúrese de que todo esté apretado y si todavÃa se ve mal. Entonces llámenos y lo reemplazaremos. ¡no lo uses para que podamos intercambiarlo!
Which is the lightest rod? Best for casting around 4-5 oz lure weights? Thank you in advance.

Usually use 8oz or do I have to look for something in heavy power?Â
THe Shimano Stradic 5000 FL will pair with the 9ft SpeedMaster surf rod, but if your looking for better casting distance, then the Shimano SpeedMaster or Ultegra Surf reels would be the way to go. Please let me know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
The Shimano SpeedMaster 10'6" surf rod will pair nicely with the Shimano Saragosa SW 5000 (or 6000 if you want a bit more line capacity). Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
For throwing poppers around 2oz, you would be better with the Shimano Speedmaster SPMS120MH2 surf rod. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
You can pair the BG8000 with the 12ft H Speedmaster surf rod. You should be able to cast 8oz with that combo as the rod is rated 3-8oz. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
The distance from the end of rod butt to the reel seat is 27 3/4 inches for 12' SpeedMaster casting surf rod. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
That will depend on the reel you are pairing the SpeedMaster 9ft surf with, but normally you wouldn't go over 30lb mono and ideally 12 - 20 mono would work best for casting. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
the target species that iam looking are bluefish, big stripe bass, albies and fluke.
Shimano STC5000XGFL Stradic FL Spinning Reel
Penn BTLIII5000 Battle III Spinning Reel
Penn Spinfisher VI SSVI6500BLS Spinning Reel- This is model has no bail on it which takes time to get use to but after getting the hang of it having no bail is pretty fun.
the 12' MHMF action rod will provide a softer feel compared to the HF model, I think you would be able to get away with the MH model for these size fish, it would make it more sporty, but if you mean business on these fish i would recommend the 12'hf
Hello, I have a Penn Clash 5000, and I would like to pair it with a 9 foot Shimano SpeedMaster Surf Rod, would that work?

The 11' model would pair with a spinning reel.
we can only get these right now SHM-3683
