Great reel

I have this reel and caught blue fish in the 20 pound class and false albacore in the 8 pound class and used this for fluke I feel it's a great reel so far , I have had no issues with it so far but only time will tell , plus I try to stay away from braid I'm going back to mono line, it been tested and used for years Going old school

Got this for my son's setup. My son uses this reel allot and it's still running smooth and operating great. I think this reel performs better then it's price point and will be around for a long time with proper care.

I have had reel for about 6 months now and after the 3rd or 4th month the reel started getting jammed and feels very scratchy on the inside, I think I just got a bad one. its fine the reel still gets the job done I have caught a few slot snook on the 1000 size and I only use it at the spillway so there is like 5% saltwater and I rinse it so I think you should maybe get the symetre for a little more.

The Shimano Sahara Fe 500 will fit that rod fine. You could use the next size up if you'd like. Both reels would be perfectly fine.
