What type of graphite is this rod made of? Is it IM7 or IM8?

Nothing is listed on the Shimano site and we dont have any stock to check. I would recommend calling Shimano at 877-577-0600

am i able to use this in inshore applications, if not what medium heavy cheap rod would you recommendÂ

Hi Finn, The Shimano Scimitar Casting Rods are designed and intended for fresh water fishing applications. I would recommend a 13 Fishing FTGC71MH Fate Green Inshore Casting Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/one-3-ftgc71mh-fate-green-inshore-casting-rod.html This would be great for inshore saltwater fishing applications.
