I would like to know if the rod would be a good fit for a Shimano Stella 20,000 and for a Daiwa Saltiga 18,000 & 14,000? Please advise what is the correct Pole for the 3 reels? I purchased the Reels here at Tackle Direct. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
William
THe Shimano Ocea Plugger Full Throttle spinning rod OPFTS82MH will pair nicely with the Shimano Stella SW 8000HGC spinning reel. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
Respectfully,
Joshua R.
Also - While the reels you are using may have a max drag rating of 50lbs, you are most likely not utilizing all of that while fighting a fish as 50lbs of drag would be extremely difficult to fight a fish on a popping rod for any period of time, not to mention increasing the risk of a number of failures. I'd recommend a drag rating of 1/3 to no more than 1/2 the breaking strength of the line used.
