So glad to see this item at Tackle Direct! I had to order mine from Japan last fall; nobody in Fla. had them, and 50% of the shops I checked at had no idea what I was talking about!
I’m a new convert to slow-pitch jigging, and this tool is an absolute ‘must get’ item for making PERFECT PR bobbin knots. The guides on most slow pitch rods are very small diameter, and the PR knot is the smallest, streamlined 100% connection in existence. For jigging leaders, surf fishing, or any other time that you would use a wind-on, shock leader or topshot that is going thru your guides at a high rate of speed, the PR knot is what you want.
I have used other brand bobbins belonging to friends, and this Shimano bobbin is the hands down winner for quality of construction, fit and finish, and smoothness. The price may seem steep, but I paid half again for shipping from Japan! Trust me, it’s worth every penny, and once you see the results, you will laugh at every other connecting braid-to-mono knot! ( Use tip, crank the spool tension on the tool VERY TIGHT for best results. You want to have the tool tip stay right in contact with the leader while spinning it.)
