Shimano's Lucanus Jigs is a fun and exciting approach to catching bottom species. The Lucanus Jig has an aerodynamic head design thath lets it sink quickly to the bottom and stabilize the jig when it is retrieved. The Shimano Lucanus Jig also uses the multiple hook system to provide a higher hook-up ratio and a durable silicon skirts. The trailers wobble and vibrate durring the jig movement.

I am using those not just for lucanus jig, but also for buck tail jigs. Very effective for fluke and sea bass.

These skirts are so attractive to fish that you often find your jig NAKED without skirt. So you must have replacement if you intend to use the Lucanus.

GREAT but fragile

This is a great and effective skirt, redfish likes it so much!!!! even groupers and other rockfishes.
Pros
- very attractive, specially pink, sunset and dungeon.
Cons
- a little fragile, need to be replaced constantly. (2 or 3 fishes of a good size rip some skirts out...) have to carry some spare.

I'm fairly new to jigging but had heard a lot about the Shimano system. It wasn't long before I realized how effective these things work. Have caught all different species with this jig. Highly recommended

If only Shimano can find a better material for the skirt. Ok for 1 or 2 fishes here in Marquesas Islands. Same issue with other brands. By the way, fishing with lucanus still very fun and pleasant.
