The ultimate tool for perfecting the art of slow pitch jigging, the Shimano Game Type Slow J Conventional Jigging Rods are among the most advanced jigging rods to ever hit market. These highly advanced jigging rods were developed to give anglers greater control over the movement of their jig and give it the absolute best action. The Game Type Slow J features softer actions and loads more parabolically than standard jigging rods, allowing anglers to fish with lighter braid and leader for a more fluid connection between rod movements and their jig. Built on blanks utilizing Shimano's Spiral-X Core and Hi-Power X construction, these rods are astoundingly strong despite their extreme flexibility. Spiral X construction consists of multiple layers comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions, resulting in enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This construction results in an extremely responsive rod that allows for instant power transmission while casting or jigging, and greatly enhances fish fighting capabilities. Spiral X blanks are 250% more structurally rigid and 180% less prone to twisting than standard blank construction. Sparing no expense in terms of components, these state-of-the-art blanks are equipped with Shimano Ci4+ Reel Seats and Fuji SiC guides. Widely agreed upon to be one of the most comfortable and sensitive reel seats available, Shimano's Ci4+ Reel Seat and EVA foam combine to create a minimalistic style handle that allows for all day jigging comfort and an uninterrupted parabolic rod action all the way down to the butt end. Whether fishing deep with heavy jigs or shallow with a delicate presentation, the Game Type Slow J has no equal when it comes to slow pitch jigging for both pelagic and reef dwelling game fish.

Can you explain what Drag: 13 lbs @ 45 means? Does it mean you cant bend the rod more than 45

 or it will break?

1 Answer
That means that there is a maximum drag rating of 13lbs at a 45 degree angle for the Shimano Game Type Slow J Conventional Jigging Rods anymore drag has a potential to damage the rod in use. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Which model would work well with the shimano ocea jigger 4000. I would like to use the rod for jigging and sometimes add on a 50ft 80lb mono top shot for bottom fishing.
1 Answer
Ben,

The Shimano Ocea Jigger 4000 might be a little big for those rods,  The Shimano Ocea Jigger 2000 would pair well with the Shimano Game Type Slow J Jigging rod GTSJC66MHA for jigging and bottom fishing.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

I have a Daiwa Lexa 400HD 7:1, which one of these rods would it pair up with best?
1 Answer
The 6'6" MH model would match nicely with that reel and should be a good mid-point for an a ll-around rod for the Game Type Slow Jigging series.
