Featuring unprecedented strength and responsiveness, the newest Game Type J Jigging Rod series is designed for anglers who look to expand the ever-changing boundaries within the world of jigging. The new Game Type J Rods integrate Shimano's patented Hi-Power X and Spiral-X Core technologies for rod blanks that perform flawlessly under the most demanding circumstances. Spiral X construction consists of multiple layers comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions, resulting in enhanced torsional rigidity without adding extra weight. This construction results in an extremely responsive rod that allows for instant power transmission while casting or jigging, and greatly enhances fish fighting capabilities. Spiral X blanks are 250% more structurally rigid and 180% less prone to twisting than standard blank construction. Light as a feather, strong AF!

This rod is ridiculously light for its lure and line rating and it handles big fish like a dream. Considering how physically small it is, and coupled with its light weight, it is deceptive how easily it handles fish in the 80# class (my biggest to date on this bad boy is a 87 lb BFT). i have it paired with an Ocea Jigger Custom F 3000 and spooled with 440 meters of Verivas Jigging 10 x 10 PE#5 and I have no doubt whatsoever that this combo will handle triple digit fish

- Light, STRONG, beautifully made and immaculate fit/finish.
Cons
- At over $400, it isn't cheap but I do not regret the purchase one bit.

Only had this thing for a couple months now but it is an absolute workhorse. The lightest jigging rod I’ve ever owned yet still gets the job done. When we were sold this rod he talked about how he had caught a 250# shark on it. I was skeptical because of the size but this thing is super powerful and gets the job done for jigging

Unfortunately, the reel will not even fit onto the rod. The foot of the reel is too thick for the reel seat.

Hi Ameer, The Shimano Forcemaster 9000 is designed and intended for Deep Drop fishing. This is not intended or recommended to be used with any jigging rod. Instead I would recommend a Daiwa Tanacom Dendoh Offshore Deep Drop Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-tanacom-dendoh-offshore-deep-drop-rod.html These have thicker reel seats and will pair well with a Shimano Forecemaster 9000 for deep drop fishing applications. These new Type J rods are the spiral X blanks which tend to have a slightly stronger stiffer feel, while still maintaining a high performance bend you're used to from a shimano jigging rod.
These rods are brand new for 2021 so we have not physically handled these rods yet

We'd recommend a Game Type J model number GTYPJB603 paired up with a Shimano Talica sizes 10, 12 or 16 depending on how heavy of a line you are using. The Shimano Trevala or Trevala S would be the more affordable option in Shimano jigging rods.
