I bought a boot that was more of a bootie in the sense that it was soft all over. The rubber under sole padded my feet but offered very little protection from anything that wasn’t flat.
After a lot of research, I came to buy the Shimano boot. In short: it fit great, easy on and off, feels good, has solid traction and great protection from what ever may be under foot.
The only thing I didn’t like is that water seeps in from the zipper. I wear it for peddling my kayak, better protection from the sun than a croc, and protection from rough sharp pointy inshore terrain....not wading. However that’s not a deal breaker. It’s a damn good boot and I’d recommend it over other brands...,

I purchased these boots to use wading for bonefish in the Bahamas. The other reviews that I read were quite accurate. They are easy to put on, they have a big toe box so that they are comfortable for wide feet and they have a very tough sole for wading on rock and coral. BUT... the fabric on the inside of the boot traps sand particles. After wading for an hour or two, the material becomes like sandpaper and is very abrasive to the skin on the back of your ankle. I tried to solve this problem with gravel guards - and the gravel guards helped, but did not totally eliminate the problem. I have written Shimano and hope that they will change the construction and use a different fabric inside the boot.

7 days in the yucatan flats. Tough, easy on and off. Very high volume fit, maybe runs a size large.

Great boot

Absolutely love these flats boots. Have used for one trip with another to come. Comfortable. TRUE TO SIZE. I wear a 10D and these were perfect with a regular sock inside. Slightly loose barefooted but never wear shoes that way. Replaced my Simms Zipit with these- those ran way too small and narrow on my foot.

Good boots, little disappointed only because I read a review on here that says they run small so I ordered a size up(I wear 11 ordered 12) and I should not have
