Nice build qaulity. Good performance
April 22, 2018
Just picked one up today. Saw it and had to get it. Very nice build qaulity. Good action. Its stiffer than the Sellus line from Shimano. The split grip Cork/ EVA combo is nice. Its fairly comfortable for big hands. Makes skipping weightless stick baits easy. Caught a bass first 30mins with it.

The guides are very well thought-out. The extra eye is a notable feature as well as the smaller size from midway and up. This rod can handle monsters and can finesse baits with a delicate presentation.

Handles 1/2oz lures/jigs. I equiped mine with the new gen Shimano Sahara 2500. I loaded it with 20lb powerpro. 12-15lb braid would have been ideal but the reel had a max drag of 20lbs therefore my decision. I dont see why this rod would be used inshore for smallet species like trout.

Overall this rod is good quality and il be using it a lot.
Pros
  • Great build quality
  • Stylish split grip
  • Performance is good
Cons
  • The top portion of the reel seat that twists is also the grip. Not a huge fan of that. I tend to hold that section while walking with my pole and it spins on me.
  • The Exage logo is gawdy on the top. Standard white in a daiwa styled font. Its just a logo and its not that big of a deal. Doesnt effect how it fishes.
