Shimano Lucanus Flat Fall Jigs are hybrid lures between the original Shimano Lucanus and the Shimano Butterfly Flat Fall jigs. These type of jigs can be simply dropped to the bottom, winded slowly moving the jig through the desired depth, drop to the bottom and repeat. The Shimano Lucanus Flat Fall Jig features a sliding action in a horizontal position, similar to Shimano's Butterfly Flat-Fall jig. This action keeps this jig in the strike zone longer. Fish will often strike on the drop causing a slack in the line.

I'm a Shimano guy so I might be a little biased, but these jigs, along with the flat falls and Lucanas regular jigs crush. Smashed 80lb amberjacks on E FL coast with those and these Lucanos, both the regular and these flat ones for fluke and black sea bass in New England waters. high quality, no fading, not easily anyway, good hardware, I always switch my stingers out on all rigs halfways through the season. different for everyone but these are effective with fluke and what not if you know how to work a rod.

I follow a lot of Australian anglers through social media and they really like this style of jig, so I decided that I would purchase one for my trip to Costa Rica a few months ago. Used this jig inshore while jigging for snapper and it's a killer. The design is great especially like how the assist hook tether goes through the actual jig so its a direct connection to your line.
Pros
  • Great design
  • Great Action
  • Pretty good colors

Black Sea bass killer

Caught a limit of jumbo Black Sea bass in no time with these. Even caught a couple bluefish with them! Great action with little to no input from the angler. Can’t have enough in your box!
Pros
  • Catches tons of big fish!
Cons
  • Tails easily torn up by fish

I was very skeptical to use this before I tried...
I mainly used these jigs for rock fishing.
Wow, it worked!!
If your trip is on crowded party boat, please use the heaviest one like 200g.
Because there are many chances that your lines will be tangled with others.
I tried mine on a chartered boat.
Light weighted jigs were perfectly fine!!
You just wait until the jigs hit bottom and reel in. that's it!
