Offering value and versatility that is second to none, the Shimano Clarus E Spinning Rods are the perfect rod for novice and experienced anglers alike. Capable of targeting an extremely wide array of species in both freshwater and inshore environments, the Clarus E is available in a plethora of both single-piece and two-piece models to fit virtually any scenario. Models range from ultra-light panfish and trout rods to heavier rods perfect for walleye fishing and a variety of popular bass fishing techniques. Constructed on a high-modulus graphite blank, the Clarus E offers crisp, well balanced performance that fishes like a rod well outside of its price range. The blanks are wrapped with titanium oxide guides that will resist the effects of the elements to keep you out on the water for many seasons to come. These guides maximize casting distance by reducing line friction, and are suitable for use with both monofilament and braided fishing lines. Fitted with handles utilizing Shimano's G Alpha Grip Surface Technology, the handles provide a comfortable, secure grip on your rod even in wet conditions. The Clarus E is a fantastic option for any angler looking for a multi-species rod to explore a variety of different techniques, or for anyone who simply appreciates a great value!

Excellent rod for the price. i have the 2pc 7" 1/4-1/2oz model and it easily handles 20+lb Barramundi. i have it paired with a 2500 size reel and it balances perfectly and cast up to 1oz without ANY issue...casts 30g a mile in fact..
Pros
  • good value...plenty of back bone...even though rated to only 1/2oz..it will cast 1oz very far!!
Cons
  • reel seat is very small...my 2500 size reel barely fits
