Shimano Calcutta Conquest Baitcasting Reels are made with the rigidity and precision every angler needs in a round baitcasting reel.
  • MicroModule Gear
  • X-Ship
  • 8 pin VBS braking system
  • Low Friction Handle Rotation Design
  • S3D Spool
  • S Compact Body design
  • Larger Diameter Spool
  • Synchronized levelwind

Micro Module Gear
The Micro Module Gear System creates a smooth retrieve. The new gear set makes use of smaller teeth and more of them. This means that there are more contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear. The result is a more efficient gear train with less gear ''feel''.

X-Ship
X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures, and allow for longer casts.

Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D)
Shimano's S3D technology leads to significantly reduced spool vibration. By designing a balanced and uniform thin wall aluminum constructed spool, S3D creates an incredibly smooth feeling when casting and retrieving lures.

The ultimate reel
March 16, 2020
This reel is very smooth and casts a mile. The drag is smooth and can handle any freshwater fish with ease. I cast heavy swimbaits on mine with 65 pound braid. This reel puts the enjoyment back into fishing and you have the confidence that you can cast without backlashes and land whatever you hook. It is truly the ultimate reel.
Pros
  • Synchronized level wind with cast
  • Smooth drag
  • Casts a mile
  • Strong construction
  • Excellent quality

Would this be a good reel for Tog fishing?
1 Answer
The Conquest would certainly work however, there are some other reels you may want to consider, due to availability. The Shimano Calcutta B 400, Daiwa Saltist Levelwind 20A and Okuma Komodo KDS-364 are all great reels for Tog and are in stock now.
