Designed to sink quickly and be easy for anglers to work, the Shimano Butterfly SHIMMERFALL Jigs are another phenomenal addition to Shimano's highly touted butterfly jig lineup. The Butterfly SHIMMERFALL Jigs feature a long, slender profile perfect for jigging in deep water or fast drift situations. For maximum toughness and reliability, the Flat-Stick incorporates a through-wire construction that allows anglers to winch large game fish up from the bottom with confidence. The Jig's tapered edges make it come to life with little effort, producing an action that drives aggressive bites from both bottom dwellers and pelagics.

Gets to bottom quickly and holds bottom well. 300 ft deep and not a problem. Best of all, it catches fish!!!!

Just got off a charter fishing out of Ilwaco,Wa. Used several diff. jigs and the Shimano SHIMMERFALL 140G jig in blue herring was a Lingcod and rockfish magnet! Current/tide was ripping. Fished in 85' to 130' foot of water. Slim narrow jigs would stay in strike zone longer. Was actually using slowpitch gear with 20Ib. test braid and 20 Ib. fluorocarbon leader. Charter provided gear was clunky boat poles/heavy line which created to much scope in the line. Me and a couple buddies filled every ones limits LOL!.....PS, slowpitch is going to be the next big thing off the NW coast
Pros
  • Dropped fast and caught fish! With the bottom of the jig bare I didn't have problems with snagging like the charter gear
Cons
  • Switched the hook for twins up top.
