Shakespeare Ugly Stik GX2 Spinning Combos are available in seven different lengths/actions. The spinning reel is the first Shakespeare reel designed specifically for Ugly Stik. Featuring a double anodized aluminum spool with oversized bail wire, the reels are as tough as the rods they hang from. Each model has soft touch handle knobs and two pinion bearings that reduce overall wear on the reels internal parts.
The spinning reel offers a glass filled nylon body and reel sizes 20 – 35 feature a three ball bearings plus one-way clutch instant anti-reverse bearing. The 40 and 50 combos are built around a two ball bearings plus one-way clutch instant anti-reverse bearing.

nothing fancy, but probably the best value combo you can find. I've been beating up mine for over 4 years and its still going strong. very hard to break.

I got the GX2 30 reel and 6.0 ft. Rod. Spooled 12 lb test Gamma line on it. My Grand Daughter loved the cosmetics instantly, and caught a fairly large snapper on it first try. I used it and it dd well on small fish. I also landed a decent Yellow Jack on the rod, but it was an epic battle. This is an excellent outfit and a good value price. Too Bad it is made in China.
Pros
- Strong, attractive, beautiful girls rig, makes a spectacular present for a young lady, and as a very experienced fisherman, impressed me almost to the point of unbelievable. I own tackle that costs 20 times that much. But this rig is a keeper. Now I plan on buying one for myself! Don't pass up this deal!
Cons
- Made in China. Where agricultural and food practices create huge problems. But their tackle is quite good.

It is a great rod for targeting bigger species on light gear, I have personally landed a 10kg king-fish on this setup it took a while to bring in but this setup matched the fight although it was not intended too.. Great light setup

This is a nice combo for kids to learn and use. It's easier then a bait caster so the kids don't need to deal with backlash. No issues with the reel or rod both seem strong and durable.
