Seigler Reels Small Game Narrow Lever Drag Reels were designed out of the need for smaller and lighter reels with enough strength for large inshore fish. These reels are narrow but still have enough stopping power for pulling bottom fish out of their dark holes. These reels are ideal for species in shallower water where line capacity is secondary to power.

  • Decreased weight
  • Non drive side reduced diameter
  • More compact version of the Seigler Small Game
  • 30# of drag

Awesome reel
May 25, 2019
I've had my SGN for over a year and it's been fished very hard. It pulls overslot snook out from bridge pilings with ease and handles tarpon and sailfish very well. The thing is light as it gets and I have it paired with a star rod plasma. My dad fell on the handle in rough seas which bent it a little but it didn't lose function and they had a new one to me in 2 days. Great product and great customer service
Pros
  • Lightweight, looks great, tons of drag, extremely tough and great customer service

Big bang in small package
May 10, 2019
I spent some time researching reels before buying the SGN for a kayak beyond-the-breakers rig. These reels have a fan club led by one of the more famous offshore kayak fishers on the Texas coast. One UK You-tuber has a series on this reel, and many large game fish have been reported around the world. He noted then his reported 330 yard 30-lb braid capacity compressed and made more room on the spool with use. I spooled my hand-level-wind under load, a 15-lb weight on top of a phone book, beginning with a mono base wrap to bite the spool spindle. I was able to get a bit over 400 yds Seaguar 30-lb braid, with 12 yds fluoro leader, and plenty of working room on the spool. Incredible reel for the price and about the same weight as a freshwater baitcaster.
Pros
  • Lightweight, powerful drag, extremely well-made, lifetime warranty and unlimited cleaning and service by the maker.

Terrible factory customer service!!!!
December 11, 2021
The second time used it on the boat! No drag! Send back to the Virginia factory for service! E mail , phone calls no reply! After couple days kelp calling, finally got service! It’s been a month for replace one of the part. Need to pay for under warranty labor . Life time warranty? Only two months since purchased! Second time used failed!! Bad quality! Bad service!

Fantastic reel
April 20, 2021
I've been going back and forth with ordering another reel from other manufactures or trying Seigler. I love this reel and it comes with a lifetime warrentee.
For the price which is about $100 less than the other brands I was looking at, this reel provides more drag and is super smoooth. You can feel it's a well build reel as soon as you pick it up.
I'm getting ready to order another one.
Pros
  • Great drag
  • No plastic
  • Smooth
  • Nice size
  • Price
Cons
  • Wish I bought one of these sooner

Really impressive
December 9, 2020
As soon as you pop the cover off the box, you going to notice the care and quality put into this reel.

Light, smooth, strong, and gorgeous. This baby is American made, and comes with a lifetime warranty.

I spooled it with 300 yd of 40 lb Pandora x8 braid by nomad, and it could have taken some more. It's paired with a 6'8 heavy tsunami slow pitch rod, for an inshore jigging setup that's less than 2 lb. If you're thinking about doing the same, I suggest getting the optional low profile reel seat, at the club sits at somewhat of an angle.

Really impressed so far, looking forward to a full season with it in 2021.
Pros
  • -Quality build
  • -American made
  • -Lifetime warranty
  • -Responsive Customer Support (I chatted with them through FB with questions before purchasing)
  • -Looks that kill
Cons
  • If using a trigger rod, you might want to opt for the low profile real seat sold on their website.

Great Reel
November 29, 2020
Great light weight reel. I wasn’t sure about about using a lever drag for bottom fishing here in the North East. I have used it on a few trips now and love it. This reel has plenty of line capacity for my needs and has more drag capability then I will ever need.
Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Well built
Cons
  • Easy to accidentally engage clicker.

great little reel but could be better
April 30, 2020
I have caught some big fish on this little reel and Seigler could have a top notch reel with some minor refinements. First the clicker needs to be moved, it is too easy to engage the clicker when palming the side of the reel. Got annoying real fast so I removed the clinker ring on the reel spool. Upon reassembly the drag cam was all over the place either too much drag or too little no matter what I tried. So I compared the drag cam to that of a Avet Okuma and Shimano small lever drag reels and the grind on the brass cam was rough compared to the other reels. I took out my roto tool and changed the initial angle and polished the drag cam and all my problems were solved. Even with the initial issues I still love the reel perfect size to slow pitch jig all day long.
Pros
  • Perfect size for jigging all day long.
Cons
  • need some minor mods to make it the way I wanted.

Tiny tank

This is a very light, 11 oz, reel that is tons of capacity, very smooth and very strong. It's easy to palm and it has more than enough drag for inshore or some offshore use. I've been using the SGs for several years and have been very happy with them. I am looking forward to using these for jigging this spring and summer. I have mine paired to a UFO Big fish.
Cons
  • I need to learn to cast it effectively. But this is my issue not an issue with the reel if you can cast conventional reels.

R303L SGN lever drag reel
February 13, 2020
Not yet tested so 4 stars. Appears durable. I've been in the charter industry, found Accurate reels to be extremely durable over long-term use and abuse. This appears to be a close copy of an Accurate, not quite as refined and not quite the huge price tag.

Butter
February 11, 2020
They've taken the reel they started with (one that I've caught hundreds of fish with) and put it in a smaller form factor. It fits my hand perfectly for casting and thumbing the spool. I also love the crank and handle it'll handle big fish, plus it has 30#s drag and it's light. This thing's butter!
Pros
  • Great line capacity, light weight, great crank and handle, 30# drag, fantastic lever drag, very strong gearing, lifetime warranty, very smooth, made in the USA, simple and bomb proof, if you ever need it they have great support
Cons
  • They aren't cheap but this is a reel that you can use for life.
