Great For Trout Leaders
January 25, 2022
Seaguar Red Label works great as trout leaders to braid. Usually attach it with a double uni knot. I carry the spools on my sling pack in 6, 8 & 10lb and keep it from unraveling by punching it thru an elastic silicone Goodys hairband. Easy to dispense that way.
Pros
  • Price, abrasive resistant

manageability issues
July 7, 2021
I've used both the 12 and 15 lb. Good overall performance for strength. Very hard to manage on spinning gear though, with lots of looping and hop-offs.

Now only use as a leader to braid
Pros
  • strong
Cons
  • Very hard to manage on spinning gear though, with lots of looping and hop-offs. Better as a leader to braid

Knot strength unbelievable

I’ve caught many bluefin tuna using the 20 lbs as A top shot .with 30lbs floro leader, Several at 50lb. This is my go to top shot for yellowtail . To many to count over 20lbs . Even got a black sea bass, 80lbs is my guess since you can’t land them. On a calcutta 400bsv on my G-loomis BBR 964c 8’ heavy .

Great topshot for lead core fishing
December 6, 2020
I use this for lead core fishing and it has been excellent. Since it is used primarily in open water, line abrasion is not an issue. Very affordable high quality fluoro,

seaguar is the best

Been using Seaguar fluoro for fly line tippet for about 20 years because of superior toughness and knot strength. I'm not one to fish braid for more than baking. 200 yds 12-lb fluoro is perfect spooling on an inshore reel. On smaller spools that won't hold 200 yds at this diameter, I'll fill half the spool with braid and top with 75-100yds Seaguar fluoro.
Pros
  • toughness, knot strength

Good product thus far
May 2, 2019
So I’ve only been using this product for a few outings thus far and it seems to hold up well. My only gripe about it is the lack of something to keep the line from coming off from the spool such as a rubber band or a notch in the spool. Therefore, every time I take it out of the box, it unravels; which is annoying. No biggie; it’s just something that is small that could’ve been the extra star for thoughtfulness on the manufacturer end.
