Good slides - occasionally come off
April 21, 2022
These area great for live trolling mackerel in New England. If I decide I need a little weight to get the baits down in the water column I can add weight without having to re-rig. Actually, at times I've not even bothered to bring the baits back to the boat, and have just slid on of these with a bank sinker down the line.

Only complaint is that infrequently these will slip off the line completely, so you lose the slide and the weight. Only happened a couple of times, and possibly user error, but not a deal breaker, just a little inconvenient. It is well worth it to me to lose 1-2 sinkers a season to have the ability to take weight on and off the rig quickly.

Have used this for 5+ years. Love the ear of being able to switch from bait fishing to lures/rigs.

Don't stay on

Tried these multiple times and they don't stay locked on the line. They came off during the cast various times. I used them with both braid and mono lines and happened with each one.

OK for light tackle
October 11, 2014
When I use sinkers that are 2 oz or above these snaps will break apart and come off, losing the sinker in the process. This has happened nearly every time I use a heavier rig. Admittedly, I do cast very hard but so do a lot of others.
Pros
  • easy to put on
Cons
  • easy to break off
