These things are great for Spanish off of piers in North Carolina. Put a 2oz flutter jig on the bottom and you will kill it.

Great product and cheaper than I can buy at the bait shops along the NC coast. Works great for Spanish Mackerel. I also caught tons of blues. With both Spanish and blues, the rigs hold up well, but with all the teeth you will get cut off, so buy extra.

Bought a few of these and a 1.5 oz treble hooked sinker at the recommendation of one of the folks at Kure Beach Pier. The combination is utterly lethal for mackerel. I was catching them every 10 or so minutes. Solid hookups. Out of 6 fish, only 1 dropped the hook. The other folks using this rig had similar success. Great quality. Going to buy a few more to have them in reserve and to use them for targeting other fish in fresh and saltwater.

When I first bought this product, I thought it might work OK compared to a sabiki rig. They work incredible for Mackerel, and large mackerel at that! Caught enough bait in 2 days to shark fish for 1.5 weeks.

What pound test line is this rig?

Although the vendor doesn't state anywhere what pound test they use for the rig, I know by looking at them that they are at least 30lb mono. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
