This item works by allowing the bait to sink freely. This in turn creates a natural movement for more strikes. When the fish hits, it doesn't immediately feel tension. But by the time it does, it's already captured.

If using fish finders - I find these to be just as good as others. Would recommend the heavier duty if using braid.
Pros
  • - Gets the job done
Cons
  • - Gets cut on braid

Great sinker slid

These worked great for live lining rigs. Don't have to worry about them flying off durning the cast like the twist on ones. These are great and easy to open for the weights.

Simple Fish Finder rig

I haven't been able to use these yet, but I believe I will enjoy using these next time I head out to the surf. I'm going to like the fact that I won't have to use a 3 way swivel and will be able to quickly change out the weights.

Must Have

This is a must have for any saltwater fisherman's tacklebox. I mainly use these when fishing clams for striped bass. Gets you down below the bluefish and still lets you feel the bite, no matter how subtle.

What rigging does one use with a Sea Striker Dou-Lock Snap Fish Finder?

Your main line must first be threaded through the black plastic cylinder on the fish finder. You will then tie a barrel swivel to the end of your main line, and then a length of leader material on the other end of the barrel swivel. Then, tie a hook onto the end of your leader line and attach the sinker using the Duo-Lock snap on the fish finder. This allows your bait to drift freely without being constrained by the length of your leader the way it would be with a stationary 3-way swivel.
