Tubular E-glass blanks with solid glass tips and blank through handle construction add strength and lifting power to these Billfisher boat rods. Each guide is triple wrapped and coated with UV resistant epoxy.

Butt sections consist of premium graphite reel seats and lightweight EVA fore grips. Durable hard butts are available on some models which allows for easy removal from rod holders. All rods include graphite gimbal with cap.

Sea Striker 7' Billfisher broke in half.

Purchased one year ago. Broke mid shaft on what might have been a 15 to 20 pound amberjack.

Broke on first fish:(

Bought two of these on sale as extra boat rods. First hookup ended quickly with the rod snapping mid-blank. I didn't expect a lot out of a rod I paid $40 for, but I might have been better off using $20 bills for bait!
Pros
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Broke easily

I have a penn spincaster SSV8500. Need a boat rod 6.5 to 7.5 ft with heavy base notched butt. have a Penn. Blue water Carnage pen-0990 but tip is too stiff. Recommended rod, price is a issue. Thanks".....

The Billfisher SSR-0213 will work for you, but is light in comparison. It has a softer tip than the Carnage. Also check out the Okuma Cedros, OKM-0218 and the Shimano Tallus Bluewater Spinning SHM-2468.
