Scotty rod mounts have those finite tilt steps, exactly 22.5-degrees apart. The offset gears will let you split that in half, giving you 32 tilt positions instead of 16. It comes with two offset gears for two rod holders. My photos show rigging that lets me keep two bait rods in normal top mount positions, and stash a rigged fly rod completely out of the way of everything. I rigged this first with a couple of M6 panheads to hold the rodholder halfway between teeth. When I found this part, it was a simple swap to get the rigging I had already imagined.
