great product

worked exactly as expected. solid clamp without damaging my bar. fits my rod holder and locks the rod holder into rail mount and allows for rotation to different positions. i used it to troll for trout about 80 feet deep and it held up well.

  • easy to install, durable and holds up well to a lot of pressure without damaging the rail.
Cons
  • none.

Does this fit the Scotty Orca #400-BK rod holder?

Hi Rick, Scotty states that the Orca Rod holders are not compatible with the Scotty 243 square rail mount. Scotty recommends to contact them for any compatibility issues at 1 (800) 214-0141. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!

Could this be used as a socket for a 1” diameter wooden flag pole ?  Can I assume that no screws go through the rail ?

no screws go through the rail. They only make these for 7/8"  and 1 1/2 " rails
