The RONZ 4X Strong Z Series swivel eye/swing hook pure tin hydro heads are the strongest jig heads available world wide. The natural, fish-like shine and durability of this metal makes it the ideal jig head material. This series is designed to withstand heavy drag pressures and extreme fishing conditions. Tin is also a non-toxic, recylable metal making it "green".

The RONZ 4X801Z is a mid size bait. There will be days when the bait will be small and matching the hatch is a must. You will get tight with this smaller size RONZ when the larger baits don't close the deal. For yellow fin and school blue fin it works its magic when all others fail. This size bait has successfully landed tuna over 200lbs and stayed together. Because of the smaller hook used you will experience a few more hook pulls on larger fish than its larger brother. That being said it is better to have been tight and loose one than not be tight at all! This size RONZ also makes a great troll or drift bait and any fish will find it irresistible.
The RONZ 4X swivel eye-swing hook jig head is the first of its kind. It is the most advanced hydrodynamic designed jig head available to fishermen world-wide. Built with an internal all stainless steel swivel that allows direct line attachment without the worry of line twist. The swivel also acts as pivoting point for side to side jig head movement that is transmitted to tail wiggle. Heavy leaders can now be used without the worry of lost action. The pure tin jig head will take a beating and keep on shinning, no more chipped paint and teeth marks. Replace its tail and it looks like brand new again fish after fish. And best of all those fish just love the shine!

The GAMAKATSU 004 Live Bait Heavy Duty hook has been selected to carry the load. This hook was introduced in the early 80's and has set the standard for other hook manufacturers to follow. It has become a favorite among many tuna and big game fishermen world-wide and is one of the strongest hooks for its size. Built with a very sharp powerful point this hook can penetrate bone without bending.

The hook is attached to the swiveling eye via a stainless steel cotter pin that allows the eye of the hook to pivot freely in the round bend of the cotter pin. The straight end of the cotter pin is passed thru the inside eye of the swivel and bent over. When this connection is cast into the jig head it becomes a very strong link. The pivoting motion of the hook adds to the action of the tail and helps to prohibit the fish from using the weight of the jig head to shake it free. This head and hook design seems to hook most fish in the corner of the mouth helping to keep your leader away from sharp teeth.

Seems to be a good product. Well made; although I haven't fished it yet so I don't know if the lure will catch fish. Tackle Direct has been great to do business with!

Ultralight tackle
March 24, 2020
The 4" version of this lure is an awesome ultralight lure for both freshwater and saltwater. In Costa Rica the small snook and small jacks go nuts for these. I think these could also be used for super finicky tuna feeding on small bait but it would need to be rigged with extra weight and a strong assist hook.
Pros
  • Great profile and size
Cons
  • The tail does not last long when you are on the fish, so extra tails will need to be bought.
