Durable fishing safety strap, hooks to rod when needed, stretches 5in to 5ft and has been tested to over 450lbs$19.95 USD
The Rod-On was created as a safety feature for the fishermen, not just the rod! How many times have you tripped over a safety line while fighting a big fish even after you have cleared the cockpit of the other rods! The Rod-On! will hide up underneath the gunwale and then stretch out to hook up to your rod when needed. It will stretch from 5 inches to 5 feet and has been tested to over 450lbs.

Nice recoil

I purchased 2 of these recently for use when off-shore trolling. The coiled design keeps the leash out of the way when the rod is in the gunnel but is long enough to easily reach the opposite gunnel when fighting the fish. To me, keeping the deck uncluttered when attempting to land a large fish is a safety concern. The clips are also easy to use and allow for quick disconnect from the reel when necessary. I will be ordering a few more for my additional rods.

The product is good. Your service is poor. I won’t order from you again.

I ordered 5 of the above leashes and paid $25+ dollars for quick shipping. You only shipped me 1. I didn’t mind spreading the extra shipping cost over 5 items but would never have paid it for 1 item. Ship me the other 4 I ordered and charge me no shipping and I will forgive and forget.

Great strength and coils up nicely so that you are not tripping all over the leashes on the deck.

I recently purchased this leash for trolling before a trip I went out on. I was a little nervous having my Penn 16vsx off the back of the boat. This thing help up like a champ.

Purchased to protect my new investment in rods and reels. The color of the clip was Silver and the clips are more like carabiners than what appear in the store picture.

Quality product

Well built product that I trust would stand up to its claim. I use these on 9 ft wire line trolling set ups. While I haven't had to test them by having a rod go over, I am comfortable in the quality that if one did I would be able to get it back.
Pros
  • quality hardware, long coil that winds up tight

Could the clip attach to a boat cleat?
1 Answer
The middle of the cleat may be to thick for the opening of the snap to go around it.
