Will have to confess I bought my conventional RH Custom surf rod direct from Rich, because my reel application was an Abu C3-CT modified with a barstock frame. The foot on the reel is 78 mm, and L3 on one-piece reel seats is 75 mm, so it had to be built with a split reel seat. Exceptional communication and service. The rod is light in hand and a joy to cast all day. Great blank, exceptional workmanship.

Love this blank, and the construction behind the product. RH Customs really take pride in delivering a well built blank and beyond that, providing exceptional customer service. I have a vs150/gloomix imx 9 foot combo which has been rendered obsolete because of this rod rated 1-4 paired with a zeebaas zx27, which by far is way more versatile. This is the only combo i ever needed for any application for plugs/bait this past year and caught many stripers/blues with it and handled these fish like a champ, never felt undergunned. like this rod, ALOT.

This rod is hands down the best casting rod have ever owned, it throws a mile. I will definitely pick up another RH Custom in the near future.
