Can the owner change the battery after five years or must it be returned to an approved station? How much is a new battery?
1 Answer
McMurdo batteries should be replaced every 5 years if unactivated, it is highly suggested to also change them after it is activated (every time). Unfortunately you would have to send it out to an authorized installing dealer in order to have the battery changed. They would then give you an estimate. Liferaft Services in Maine is one company that services and sells batteries, Tom Greer is whom you would ask for in order to receive an estimate or cost on a new battery.
