My father still has one that his father handed down to him many years ago. Thing has been to heck and back while being resharpened many times over the years, but still works great. it has definitely outdone it's competition many times over the years.

I recommend getting all 3 sizes. As a chef, own numerous fillet knifes. This one is my favorite. Its light weight, flexible and stays sharp. The handle is nice in that it grips well when wet.
Pros
  • sheath
  • price
  • flexibility
Cons
  • particles getting stuck on the grip make it difficult to clean.

As a chef, own numerous fillet knifes. This one is my favorite. Its light weight, flexible and stays sharp. The handle is nice in that it grips well when wet.
Pros
  • lightweight
  • flexible
  • inexpensive
  • easy grip handle
Cons
  • handle has lots of crevices, that tend to get caught in them. This requires deep cleaning and soaking to remove if you use the knife as much as I do.

Excellent filet knife. Stays sharp even after fileting through the tough skin of a shark. I actually have 2 one for fileting and the other is for a bait knife.
Pros
  • Stays sharp. Lots of flex for great filets

Owned 3 of these at last count. One has to be 20 years old. Still going. Still prefer them over an electric for getting clean fillets off crappie and bass.
Pros
  • Last forever
