The Rapala X-Rap Twitchin’ Mullet is an ideal bait for coastal flats and shallow inshore waters. Featuring a side-to-side drifting action that accurately depicts the behaviors of forage fish like mullet, pilchard, pinfish and more, the Twitchin’ Mullet remains high in the water column and covers water laterally with a wide twitching walk-the-dog cadence. The slow sinking buoyancy of this bait allows anglers to deploy a glide and drop technique that lands the Twitchin’ Mullet into pockets where big fish love to ambush their prey. 3D holographic eyes and a vibrant array of color options add to the baits appleal, while the fitted VMC 1X inline single hooks allow for quick hook point penetration and easy releases.

Great for jetty fishing

Uses these on bays and jetty fishing. Works great. You must know how to cast to avoid the front hook from catching line. Some comments below shows they need to work on casting

06 Twitching Mullet
February 9, 2019
I love the action of the 06 Twitching Mullet but it is the most aggravating lure that I've ever fished. 50% of the time the front hook flips over the back of the lure! I've tried downsizing the front hook but the weight deduction makes the lure stay on top. The best thing I've found is to reverse the front hook. When I do that I only hook them on the back hook. This problem can be remedied by moving the front hook hanger back about 3/16 of an inch. Whatever happened to field testing? It took about 5 minutes to figure this out. I hope to see this problem corrected in the near future. Sincerely @Lagoonrat. 👍
Pros
  • Great action. Great colors.
Cons
  • See review. Price is a little high. Example: YoZuri twitch baits are 7.99. You can buy the Rapalas for 9.99 on line but don't go to Bass Pro. They want 13.99.

Solid!
March 21, 2018
The twitchin mullet swims beautifully and is really fun to work. The only issue is that sometimes the lead hook will hook on to the lure itself . It actually foul hooks itself quite often. Would advice switching to a treble or smaller single . Also one of the lures I received seemed to have a unfinished paint job as the gold/yellow portion on the fusilier model was not there. It only had a blue top.
Pros
  • Great action
  • Beautiful xrap finish
  • Casts well
  • Fun to work
Cons
  • Paint wasnâ?‚??"?t as discribed.(only happened once)
  • Foul hooks itself
