Nice action, depth control
July 26, 2022
Great lure that casts well and holds its depth at about a foot or two on a medium retrieve. This is great for depth control when you don't want to drag the bottom or be on top.
Pros
  • Action, cast, color options, single inline hooks
Cons
  • A little pricey but still worth it.

life like in hand and under water. everytime this hits water it gets hit- at least for me. get great casting distance with it too.
Pros
  • single hooks meaning no hooking my fingers going from treble to them

Awesome Profile
March 25, 2020
This lure has one of best baitfish profiles of any on the market. Coupled with the great action that can be achieved with the correct retrieve. This is a great lure especially in the back bay for bass and blues. And down south it is perfect for snook, redfish, trout and even tarpon. Absolutely amazing lure.
Pros
  • Action
  • profile
  • colors
  • terminal tackle
  • castability

Effective Lure

I used this lure in the Blue Sardine color when the mackerel were around off Provincetown, Cape Cod and it out-caught typical swimmers. Big fan of this lure

Another Great lure from Rapala
January 23, 2017
You've probably read all the positive reviews on this lure from the saltwater anglers who posted before me. Let me tell you, it works great in fresh water as well. I purchesed my first one prior to leaving on one of our annual fly-in trips to northern Ontario. I wanted a larger lure capable of reaching 30' to drag through a long bottleneck between the two lake basins where it reaches depths of 40+ feet and large Pike are known to reside. That orange & chartreuse Hot Head pattern caught a 45" Northern on its first trip down to the depths and has continued to put big, deep-dwelling fsh in the boat on every trip since. It's tough as nails, standing up to numerous Pike teeth & bouncing off all the boulders in the area with barely a mark on it. Thanks again Rapala. I'm hooked!
