I've tried a few styles, but this one, with the angled sides, is the best. The file does a great job sharpening hooks of all sizes, and the ergonomics due to the angles make it simpler to get the edges sharp.
I put a light oil on the one I use on the boat so the saltwater won't rust it as quickly.

I've used the black Rapala hook file for years and this seems to be the same exact file but with a white handle. Sharpening hooks is simply a fact of life while musky fishing and the rapala hook file is the best I've used. Just a few swipes makes a dull hook sticky again.
