I got this because I needed to work some split rings that are rated from 175-350 lbs. My regular split ring plier is 5.5" and a real struggle to open the larger rings. Since I don't use the larger rings very often, I didn't want to spend too much. The low pricing attracted me as well as the longer length - and once I had in my hand and put to use, it was worth every cent. Opens the larger rings with ease. I would not compare this to a top of the line plier, but for the money - it works exactly as it should.

Solid but the grips and spring slip on the bases.

Bought it cause my old big pliers wouldn't open the small split rings on my small inshore lures and I wasn't able to change the hooks on them.
This one does the work on all sizes of split rings.
