I've found these hooks to be self setting. Don't free spool. Set your drag, let the fish pull, and he hooks himself.

Rinse with freshwater after use and you can get multiple days out of one hook. I've hit some decent sized sharks and the barbs remained sharp.

As a charter boat captain that specifically targets monster mako sharks in the 500 to 1000lb plus class this is the only hook we use in the 22/0 and 24/0 size. We have taken over 100 monster makos on these hooks with an extremely high hook up to land ratio.

My son has been an avid shark fisherman in Panama City, FL for the last two years. He Kayaks his bait out about 1/3 of a mile and fishes from the beach. He has probably caught, tagged and released about 50 sharks including one that weighed 450 pounds.
