Quantum Smoke PT Baitcasting Reels are engineered with a larger 35.5 mm spool into a very compact frame to provide anglers plenty of line capacity, longer casts, and more inches of line pick-up with every turn of the handle, compared to smaller spooled reels currently in the fishing industry. These reels feature a top-notch braking system with a new ACS 4.0 cast control that is lighter in weight which minimizes the amount of energy it takes to get the spool spinning on a cast, along with additional brakes that disengage around 5,000 RPMs to maximize distance.

grinding noise stay away

I also have Quantum PT Icon IC100SPT, Energy PT E100HPTA, Tour MG PT T100HPTMG, Iron PT IR300SPT.
All reels including Smoke PT were sent to Quantum reel service to adjust the grinding problems.
I think Quantum, Abu Garcia, Penn, and a few other reels are very similar or the same reels as Chinese OEM reels.
I would not buy any other reels again expect Shimano.
Took me years to realize the Japanese are the best fishing equipment manufacturing companies.

I use this for salt water lines with 40lb spiderwire blue camo. For a whole 200 yard spool on with a little mini backing. With 25lbs of drag striped bass and blue fish don’t stand a chance around bridges I fish. I plan on dropping for blackfish and seabass because I can. It has the nuts to do it. Paired it with a 6’6†Mh tsunami slow pitch jigging / casting rod and the combo can’t be beat. I can cast a mile and horse anything I want inside the 3 mile line. Once you set this to your lure or jig, it’s impossible to backlash. Between cast control and the magnet it can NOT be done. No thumb, no problem.

- Everything?. Salt guard. Super smooth. 25lbs of drag. 200yards of 40lb braid. Canâ?‚??"?t backlash it if I tried once set for the lure.
Cons
- The ONLY thing, is I wish it was a flipping switch like the Quantum accurist. But whoopty do???
