The Promar Elite Series Carbon Fiber Gaff provides heavy duty fish landing capabilities in an impressively sleek and lightweight package. Constructed from high tensile strength tapered carbon fiber, the shaft is extremely light weight, flexible, and easily maneuverable through the water, while still retaining high levels of strength and durability. These gaffs are fitted with a beefy, corrosion resistant hook constructed from #316 stainless steel. Each of the two grip sections is wrapped with a thick tuna-cord coated in a clear marine grade epoxy. These custom wrapped grips ensure solid control over the catch and maximize your grip. These gaffs are finished with deck friendly butt caps at the end of the shaft to protect against scratching or damage to the boat.

Nice and lite gaff that floats incase you drop it. Perfect size for smaller boats.

Great Socal Gaff
June 2, 2021
Purchased this for my 20' skiff fishing socal. This is great from the local tuna, yellowtail, and halibut. I love how light weight it is and easy to maneuver. Will probably also purchase the 6' model with larger hook eventually.
Pros
  • light weight
  • floats
  • perfect for fish 20lbs - 80lbs
Cons
  • you lose hook cap right away because its not attached to the gaff, just slips on

Buy only for smaller fish

Gaff looks nice and is very light which I like but be aware that this gaff is brittle. Used it for the first time with no existing scratches and the gaff broke in half. The fish which was gaffed was 200#’s so not small by any means but it was the first time using this gaff. The gaff did not make contact with the boat and just broke from the weight of the fish.
Pros
  • Light weight with a nice design
Cons
  • Breaks easily and expensive
