- Maintains performance over time 10X STRONGER THAN STEEL But what about...? Older, first-generation superlines were made of abrasive aramids that could cut rod guides and take a toll on equipment. PowerPro solves these problems through super slick, non-abrasive Spectra Fiber composition and unique EBT processing. Other complaints about superlines arose simply because the technology was so new, and few people knew how to take proper advantage of it. The Using PowerPro quick guide takes the mystery out of using a superline and guarantees a satisfying fishing experience from the first cast! How will PowerPro change the way I fish? In addition to enhancing your enjoyment and increasing your catch, PowerPro slightly changes the way you set up for a day of fishing. PowerPro works great with any kind of reel, so you don't need any special equipment. Still, switching from mono to PowerPro is like trading your fly swatter in for a two-by-four: it takes a little care to get used to all that extra power!
Use it for my surf rods and boat rods!
Have had a little issues with wind knots when casting in to the wind. But it's a small trouble compared to the good attributes.
This is line is quite expensive so buying in bulk is good if you can afford it

1. It is well known that it is very limp and very castible and also has a much smaller diameter for a given strength than mono.
2. It is also well known that it also has a very minimal stretch making it easier to get a good hookset on larger fish.
3. It is not well know that this line has incredible abrasion resistance.
I fish for big lake trout here in Colorado on Blue Mesa Lake. Most fishermen here use steel leader while fishing for lakers because of their incredibly sharp teeth. I have been using 50 lb test PowerPro for two years now both as the line as well as the leader to my baits. I have not lost a single fish due to a cut leader. This season, we caught 4 lakers over 30 lb with this line/leader combo along with numerous fish between 10 and 30 lb. I can't say enough about this great line.
Note: 50 lb test PowerPro is much smaller and much easier to cast than 20 lb test mono!!!
- Smaller diameter than mono for given pound test,
- Low diameter allows me to put more yards of line on my reel.
- Very limp and easy to cast,
- Almost no stretch.
- High abrasion resistance.
- Green color makes visibility low even for 50 lb test.
- The cost is quite high but the performance makes it still worth it.
