In recent years there has been a craze among fisherman to use Red line. But Why? The logic behind this trend is based largely on the color spectrum in water. Since shades of red are the first color to fade, it is thought that by using red colored line, the angler's line "disappear" underwater. Truth be told, Red does not disappear but in fact turn to a shade of Gray. This gray tone will help to blend the line in to the background and become much less visible to most fish that swim. The color red will completely fade out at a depth of 14 feet. Therefore, when targeting fish in depths of 20 feet or greater, Red Line is ideal. Whether you are deep cranking for bass; trolling for lake trout, walleye or salmon; to bottom fishing in deep rivers...Red PowerPro should be on your reel.

My Favorite Fishing Line

This is the best fishing line I ever used for many reasons. It is strong, limber, smaller diameter than mono, more cut resistant than mono, etc. The 80 lb red or green is the best salt water fishing line that I have found for fishing sturgeon, ling cod, salmon, halibut, shark, strippers, and more. And, it is best to get it in the 500 yard roll, or larger, because most places you can only best the 150 yard roll off the shelve. That is not enough line to fill one reel. I use it for bottom fishing with bait and large swim baits. I use it for casting lures. I have landed big fish with this line and have been able to fight my way out of some really bad snags due to the strength of this line. All of my big game poles have this line on it. The only application I don't use it for is trolling. It will twist and wined up when trolling.

High Quality Braided Line

Excellent product that has never let me down. I primarily use braided line for fishing and power pro exclusively. The vermillon red allows me to identify and untangle my line quickly when fishing on party boats. Highly recommended.

Line comes off reel effortlessly. Make sure u put a little mono down as a base my preference is smaller dia. Than braid going on. As this keeps it from setting in between wraps of larger mono. I put just enough to cover spool. Then a uni to uni. Also a shot of mono leader on top to keep braid from digging into itself during cast. This is just how I set up my surf casting set up.
