In recent years there has been a craze among fisherman to use Red line. But Why? The logic behind this trend is based largely on the color spectrum in water. Since shades of red are the first color to fade, it is thought that by using red colored line, the angler's line "disappear" underwater. Truth be told, Red does not disappear but in fact turn to a shade of Gray. This gray tone will help to blend the line in to the background and become much less visible to most fish that swim. The color red will completely fade out at a depth of 14 feet. Therefore, when targeting fish in depths of 20 feet or greater, Red Line is ideal. Whether you are deep cranking for bass; trolling for lake trout, walleye or salmon; to bottom fishing in deep rivers...Red PowerPro should be on your reel.

Great line

I was a long time ANTI Braid guy. This 20 # Power Pro Product was the first Braid I have purchased and use. I combined it with an eight foot G. Loomis rod and a Penn 4500 Slammer for Beach surf fishing in my Home town in North Carolina. WOW!! slick and strong. The casting distance is remarkable! I tie on a 4 foot section of Sako 25# leader with a great knot I found in the small pamphlet with the Power Pro Braid. I now can get out far enough to reach the fish. My advice use the line use their Knot ( easier than any I found on u tube) eat the fish.
Pros
  • Strong and Slick
Cons
  • Learn a knot you can use in the field. Power Pro offers such Knots. Never fish any line around kids playing in the surf at the beach. If a fish runs, any line but especially Braid, could make an great day a bad day. "When the kids come to play, retreat for another day."
