Works to lock only one rod on a rack that has 7 rod holder. I would need 7 of these locks ($175) to secure all my rods. I found a kayak locking cable that secures all the rods for a fraction of the cost. I returned this product.

This vinyl covered stainless steel cable combination lock is a great , if temporary, way to secure my rods while my truck is parked at the beach or in the parking lot of a restaurant.
Pros
- Very easy to thread the cable through the bail and spindle body and the truck bed rod holder. Less expensive than comparable bike locks on the market.
Cons
- Needs to be removed and stored when parked for an overnight stay. Would not resist a cable cutter.

I use 2 of them and place the cable through the reel seats to prevent theft , when I am carrying rods from the truck to the boat .

Lock up that Van Staal or other expensive equipment without having to worry if it’ll all be there in your truck when you get out of the store! Easy directions for combination. Probably need to buy more when my friends see I’m all locked up.
