Very nice looking, secure, holds 5 rods and less expensive than homemade holder.

I am very pleased with the look of the rods in the holder mounter just behind my truck bed box. I used a 1/8" stainless steel cable to secure it with a padlock to the truck bed rings. I can adjust the angle of the rods and the height above the cab. The rods are securely locked in the holder. I am certain that I could not have built a holder at home for the same price.
Pros
  • Good looking rig.
  • Very secure and theft resistant.
  • High grade aluminum material with PVC rod tubes.
  • Less expensive than my home made knockoff.
Cons
  • I recommend removal from the truck bed after use to prevent theft.

How does the holder rotate if you desire to change the angle--is it a pin you pull and rotate the entire bar or do you have to loosen each rod holder and place at desire angle?
1 Answer
Simply loosen the ratchet clamp and turn the holder to which angle desired and re-tighten it.

Any feedback on how this works with 9' or 10' surf rods? Worried that they may be too heavy and fall over. Not sure if i should spring for the offshore model instead.
1 Answer
The offshore model is just going to have a larger opening in the tubes to fit the larger butt ends of offshore rods. Angled right and you shouldn't have any problems with 9-10 foot rods in the inshore model.

How many more single rod holders could you comfortably fit when adding to this 5 rod holder?
1 Answer
You could probably add 2-4 more single rod holders comfortably, depending on size of rod and whether you leave your reels attached when storing the rods.
