This was given to my grandson as part of his birthday gift. He's finally reported back that it is as useful and effective as he'd hoped it would be. Also, the whole online order experience was easy and very efficient.

Belongs in every tackle box.

I picked one up late last summer at my bait shop and it quickly became a hit. It allowed me to use both hands to change bait and remove seaweed from my hooks without having to awkwardly tuck the rod under my arm to hold it. It's a cost effective upgrade that you will appreciate on many fishing excursions to come, trust me.
Pros
  • small light weight and highly effective.

Best new fishing product in years
January 10, 2017
How does anyone fish with out this. If you fish from a boat, the rocks, or the shore you need this product. This saves my $300 rods from being set on the ground while I tie a lure or taking off a fish. Just put it in your pocket and now you have a cradle for your rod.
Pros
  • Affordable
  • easy to use

Rod Rest Keeps it simple yet very effective
January 6, 2017
The Rod Rest belongs in every tackle box and on every boat of every fisherman from beginner to expert. I live and fish in Boston and we have some murky waters with everything from grass to trash and it all gets caught on my line from time to time. Rod Rest makes it easy to clean my line without damaging any of my equipment I can bait and clean my line with two hands at the perfect height. I also like that it's made in New England!
Pros
  • Small, easy to use, lightweight, floats

Pocket Rod Rest

I had the pleasure of meeting the inventor this summer. Dave showed me his very clever "pocket rod rest". I hooked it on my pocket and placed the butt of my rod on the rocks, and snapped the rod into the "rest". I think it's great! I had my hands free to get another lure or make a phone call. It's so practical, you no longer have to put your rod down in the sand or the rocks. I recommend it to everyone!!

Can't fish without it
January 6, 2017
I mostly fish for striped bass off the rocks, having the pocket rod rest is a necessity. Not having to put my pole on the ground to take fish off the hook makes life easy. I use it every time I fish.
Pros
  • Great price
  • Easy to use
  • Makes life easy

Hand Dandy Fishing Tool
January 6, 2017
As avid fishermen we are always playing the rod-between-your-legs game, or kneeling down (sometimes in the sand) to tie on a lure, take a hook out to release, or to remove eel grass from our lines. With the Pocket Rod Rest you can just drop your rod in and your line is right in front of you, so you can remain on your feet and in control to complete any task. You have no idea how handy it comes in on land and out on the boat. We couldn't be happier with our purchase. I can't believe someone didn't invent this sooner - Makes fishing much more enjoyable.
Pros
  • Makes changing lures, taking out hooks and cleaning up your line a breeze.
Cons
  • I can't think of any. I'll let you know if something comes up.
