The Plano rod case easily fits 2 rods and that it can be adjusted to different lengths is a plus. Used TSA approved locks to lock down the cap and the adjustment ring. Just used on a Mexico fishing trip this past November
Pros
  • Adjustable
  • Durable
  • Cost effective
Cons
  • Only accommodates 2 rods

Fly southwest? Perfect

I can easily fit my 1 piece 7ft rods in here without maxing out for southwests policy before they start charging, its got foam on the top of the lid to reduce shock on your rod tips although you're probably carrying more than 1 rod so just remember to rubber band your rod tips together to create a stiffer end to reduce breakage, you can add one of those TSA approved combination lock. You'll need 2 to completely lock it

this item meets airline regulations for a carry on baggage...no extra fees...it extends in 6 inch increments....only problem is it is only has a 3 inch diameter (to meet airline regs) which barely fits the last eye on my spinning rod...overall very protective though

HOW MANY RODS FIT IN A CASE
1 Answer
You could comfortably fit 2-3 rods in this case deepening on the size of the guides that are on each rod.
