Tree trunk of a rod with a fast tip. Casts very far with a Shimano Ultegra matched. Although the tip is so sensitive with 6oz or more the tip bends hard makes it a little more difficult to cast. Quality rod that can handle the bigger game. 50/50 split I believe

Casts well, innovative reel seat, nice case, decent price point
December 17, 2019
A nice rod that is good to throw 3-10 ounces, maybe a bit more, and 11 feet is a sweet spot as opposed to most rods in this class which are 12 feet. The adjustable reel seat is good for people with shorter arms. The carrying case is good for travel, as is the 50/50 split. Overall, a very nice rod for the price point. Nice components and comfortable to grip.
Pros
  • Wide range of casting weight, good for bait, good length, nice components. Light weight.
Cons
  • No real cons. Not an inexpensive rod.

BEST ROD PERIOD!!!!
April 24, 2019
I just got my Phenix Black Diamond surf rod spinning 1108 yesterday and set it up with my shimano Saragosa 6000 and went out today to try it out and the rod is a beast caught my biggest fish yet and more to come..I thought the shimano Tiralejo surf rod was good I found this setup way better in my opinion..HANDS DOWN MONEY WELL SPENT!!! ALSO SHOUT OUT TO TACKLE DIRECT FOR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FAST SHIPPING YOU GUYS KEPT YOUR WORD AND GOT ME ON THE WATER TODAY!!!!!
Pros
  • Very light and comfortable easy in the hand really sensitive..cast a mile long without even trying letting the rod do it’s job..I also love how you can adjust the reel seat the way you want higher or lower and it has a medal washer or tightening screw on top and bottom of the reel seat so it’s not going NOWHERE..the design and the quality of the rod is amazing and plus it comes with a rod case too!!!!!! WINNING!!!!!

That reel may be a bit undersized for that rod you may want to look at the Daiwa Lexa 400 HD

The 11' model is considered a H power rod.
Submitted by: Donald on October 4, 2017
Nothing is listed as a power rating but judging its numbers I would say its rating is a heavy.
