These reels are using 10 BB and you can feel it. Super smooth retrieve. I now have shelved my Shimano Spirex and "go to" these for near all my freshwater bass fishing. ( Mostly done from a canoe/kayak) Like them enough where I now own and fish 5 of them. This is my third year fishing these and even though several have been dunked, they continue to run like new.

This Pflueger combo is a great entry level spinning rig and arrived very quickly. The entire combo is light in hand and fishes all day with nearly no strain to the shoulder and arm. Very smooth turning the reel crank and the drag performs as described. I truly enjoy the design of the cork handle, feels great in hand. Spooled with 12 lb test fluorocarbon this setup has caught many variety of bass and suckers as well as midsize catfish and carp in tough conditions - lots of boulders, tree branches, and various man made snags. Combo is exactly what I expected and great overall first buying experience with TD.

This is by far my favorite oufit for kayak fishing. I beat the crap out of this set up and she keeps on catching fish. I have plenty of stradic reels that I use and love, but they are just too fragile to do the kind of work I need them to do on a kayak. If you rinse everything off (Saltwater) when you get home these will last at least 3 seasons fishing hardcore for red/trout/flounder.

Good sturdy reel but unlike larger models of previous version it cannot be used for saltwater. Good freshwater reel nonetheless.
