This Penn rod matches my Penn Rival perfectly. Well made with. Lot of back bone and great finish and looks. The price fit very well in my price range as I will use this to fish of from the surf as well from piers.

For the price you can't beat it. The rod offers good durability and a nice look while still being versatile enough to use in most inshore applications. My only complaint is that it is a little to stiff for my liking, but as I said for the price it's a good buy.

Hi Jim, The Penn Squadron II Inshore Rods are designed to be more of a inshore rod but could be used for light inshore jigging. I would also recommend the Penn Battalion II Slow Pitch Casting Rods.
