How long is the rod? Can monel wire be used with this rod?

Is this setup good for bottom fishing as well as trolling?

This combo is far more suited for trolling. Bottom fishing with a rod and reel of this size would be possible, but a smaller and lighter combo would be far more comfortable to fish with.

The reel is perfect. The rod has a roller tip though. You might be more happy with a regular guide.
