Since I bought a Spinfisher IV, I had to return the spare spool, as the V spools are incompatible with the IV reels. TackleDirect accepted the return and refunded without issue, though I had to pay return shipping as is standard. Just be sure you READ descriptions before you buy! SpinFisher V spare spools are only for the V reels, NOT the IV !

I ordered 2 penn 6500 line spools ,1 was correct and the 2nd was damaged and unusable it looks like it was rebuilt and done incorrectly

This product has been very helpful for me. I have this spool loaded with 30lb braid while my original spool has 15 lb braid. Being able to go back and forth easily saves me time and effort. Well worth the money.

Needing a spool for both Monofilament & Braided lines, having a second spool is important. This spool is easy to swich out & is made from quality components. The rubber insert around the spool's arbor keeps a full spool of braid from spinning around the spool- a definite hassle if you have ever experienced that! That will not happen with these spools .

The Penn 047 SSV6500 Spinfisher SSV Spare Spool makes it easy for me to switch from 20 pound braid for surf fishing and to 50 pound braid around the rocks we fish in southern and Mid-Coast Maine. In the attached photo, I wasn't getting anything on 50 pound line, but my wife was getting school striped bass on 20 pound line. I switched and started scoring, including a nice American shad. I'm happy with this purchase.

I purchased two spare spool to be able to change out line weight on the fly. I am running one spool with 40lb mono. and the other with 40lb braid. the ease of quick change out saves me time to get back out on the bite so I don't miss that fish I've been waiting for. I use my spinnfisher 8500LL for flat lining when I come up on a weedline or reef fishing for yellow tail. The quick change versatility is great. I'm running the Spinfisher 8500LL on a 7ft 20-50lb Crowder rod which h is stiff enough for a kingfisher and light enough for yellowtail. GREAT reel and spool!
