I began using these Owner long shank hooks a couple of years ago to help reduce the number of short strikes we were getting from wahoo and dolphin. They work. I attribute our higher hook up rate to that little extra length on the hook shank. I'm also a fan of Owner hook generally. They are extremely sharp and made well. They also solved a problem I had been having with some Mustad hooks with flawed eyes that left gaps that allowed wire leaders to slip out at awkward times.
