i have used this type before i built my own. What you gave to do is attach 2x4 pieces to the ceiling or wall before you attach this to them to make it work. otherwise the reels are too close to the ceiling or wall.

I installed the rack on the ceiling in the garbage. It's working out great. I have dozens of rods. The racks gives me the option to keep the ones I use most safe at home Instead of storage.

but it is too close fixed to the wall.
