Excells in all areas. Bend is amazing and has got a nice load with crankbaits on hook sets. Also looks and feels great with the cork handle

Bought this for my son and ended up using it a few times. Not a top end rod but super impressed with it. Great rod for the price point. I will most likely be using it again.
Pros
  • Price. Sturdy. Feels good in the hand.

Fast tip for throwing smaller plugs
February 2, 2019
I purchased one of these rods in the medium light power for trout, bass, and possibly striped bass in saltwater. Have only caught redfish with it so far and it handled them amazing. The fast action is perfect for throwing mid sized top waters, and has plenty of backbone to stop fish. Landed plenty of reds from 14” to 26”. Paired up with a Daiwa Execlcer, it’s deadly.
Pros
  • Fast action is good for throwing mid-sized lures and has plenty of stopping power for larger fish.
Cons
  • Butt is a bit short.

Good value

Got the 7'1" Defy med light. I also own an Omen Black and a Muse Gold. The Defy Black is no comparison to these others as far as weight and balance. It feels like a good workhorse but far from a premium rod. Good rod for the price though.
Pros
  • Decent rod for $59.
Cons
  • None at this price range.
